As part of our on-going commitment to our partners, and their customers, we were happy to be involved again at the annual user event of K3 Retail. The event was held on the 16th June at Wokefield Park, a regal 18th-century mansion turned country hotel and conference centre set in 250 acres of beautiful countryside.
The theme of the day, set by K3, was: Connect, Make Happy, Together. To support the theme, they offered a packed agenda for their retail customers that allowed them to reflect on the past year and look forward to the new possibilities for 2017. The conference gave K3, together with Microsoft and K3 partners like us, the opportunity to showcase the latest Microsoft Dynamics-based technologies that will help to make retailers’ lives easier, businesses more profitable and customers happier and more loyal.
The keynote speaker was really impressive, Microsoft’s Global Director for Retail Industry Solutions based in Seattle, Karen Garrette. She gave us a view on Microsoft’s latest thinking on the approach to retail and how our lives would change as consumers and as organisations supporting retail companies. This contained some fascinating insights into the use of the masses of information available to retailers from every transaction that they carry out with the consumer.
Then we had a look at new technology in the same space with presentations from software builders helping retail companies to exploit customer data and generate customer loyalty. Now we know how we get targeted, why and when by those with whom we’ve previously done business.
The K3 customer panel, chaired by Eric Musgrave, recently of The Draper magazine, gave us a chance to hear some real life stories from a panel of executives from customer companies that are tackling the very issues Microsoft, K3 and AGR are trying to help them address. The stories, from clothing companies to pharmacy, from old style catalogue retail to cutting edge internet businesses, added colour and substance to our discussions – real problems with real solutions.
As part of the day, customers were given a chance to see the latest functionality offered in Dynamics by both K3 and LS Retail, function covering AX, NAV and CRM in a range of afternoon seminars. We also got a chance in prearranged breakout sessions to get a one-on-one with some K3 customers that wanted to ask how we might add value to their installation of AX or NAV.
The whole day was rounded off with a drinks reception where war stories were told and new friendships forged, capping a tremendously entertaining and useful day for us and, I hope, for K3’s customers. Congrats to all K3 staff involved, it was a great day!
